Take a van tour to Coshocton County to visit two outstanding layouts, The Mill Creek Central RailRoad and The Associated Model Railroad Engineers of Coshocton (A.M.R.E.C.).
Description:
The Mill Creek Central RailRoad is a two-division, approximately 5 miles long, 7 1/2" gauge railroad. It has a 4.2-mile mainline, over 225 turnouts, a maximum grade of 3%, and three yards. A rain shelter and restroom are available.
Description:
The A.M.R.E.C. Club is a 150' x 50' HO scale model railroad. They recently ran a 200-car northbound ore train and a 130-car southbound coal train simultaneously. Running at normal speed, the trains took about an hour to traverse the layout. They can change the layout from DC to DCC with one switch and multiple relays. One tower-controlled crossing can be controlled by a panel or switched to a rescued "armstrong" machine.
